CCLI Process

The CCLI Process

CCLI is a UK limited company offering copyright licences to churches, schools and organisations to protect them from the consequences of copyright infringement and to encourage greater utilisation of copyright material in church services. Rights holders enter into contractual agreements with CCLI in order for CCLI to represent their repertoire for an indefinite period. However, they can withdraw from this agreement at any time. CCLI provides a bespoke online Rights Portal for rightsholders to review all aspects of their repertoire insofar as it is managed by CCLI.

Rightsholders not currently affiliated with CCLI, and whose work is in general use within church and/or school services, can contact our Intellectual Property Centre to discuss whether or not they wish to enter into a contractual agreement.

With these agreements in place, CCLI provides to churches, schools and other organisations an annual licence to cover many activities associated with their acts of worship and wider ministry. Details about each licence available can be found here.

Royalties are paid to rightsholders twice annually and are based 100% on the information provided to CCLI by its customers via an online reporting application. You can find more information about reporting here.

CCLI makes certain deductions from Licence Fee revenue to cover running costs, in accordance with contracts agreed with various copyright owners, administrators and rights management organisations. No additional management fees or other amounts are deducted from licence fee revenue.
