Is there a limit to how often we can show movies under the license?

The licence permits you to show as many authorized movies as you want, as often as you want, for as long as your license remains active.

Is there a limit to how much of a movie we can show?

There is no limit to how much of a movie you show. The license permits you to play all or any part of an authorized title.

Can we show movies or movie scenes from any source, including video-sharing websites like YouTube?

The Church Video License grants permission to publicly display authorized content otherwise intended for private, personal use only. This means you can display any movie or movie scene which is covered by your License using a wide range of sources. This would include any legally-obtained media. It would also include a legitimate video-sharing website provided you are showing it from an official, authorized channel.

How can we check if a movie is covered?

With almost blanket coverage, a list of individual titles is not possible. Instead, check the Authorized Producers List to determine if a movie is covered. For help in confirming the authorized producer, follow our step-by-step guide.

Can we charge admission for our movie event?

Your Church Video License does not permit you to charge admission or other fees. However, free-will offerings and concessions (for example, to fundraise for a specific cause) are allowed.

Can we advertise our movie event?

The Church Video License does not permit you to advertise a specific title to the general public. However, you may advertise a specific title internally, and promote the genre, date, and time of a generic movie event externally.

Does CCLI endorse all movies authorized under the Church Video License?

CCLI/CVLI does not necessarily endorse the entire content of any movie covered. Before showing any movie, in whole or in part, please preview and determine if the content is appropriate for your intended audience.

Which organizations are behind the Church Video License?

The Church Video License and ScreenVue are the result of a partnership between CVLI (Christian Video Licensing International), CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International), and MPLC (Motion Picture Licensing Corporation).
